About This Painting
This painting depicts the Ponte Santa Trinita in Florence, one of the most elegant bridges in the city. The view looks across the Arno toward the historic architecture of the city, capturing the calm geometry of the bridge, the river, and the Florentine light.
Like many of my cityscape paintings, this work began with direct observation and photography, then developed slowly in the studio through drawing, composition, and layers of oil paint.
